The Retreat
We are so pleased to be offering our first Angampora retreat, quite possibly the first one of its kind. We have a high-energy program lined up for you in the most idyllic location. Morning and evening sessions take place either in the lakeside yoga shala or in our jungle gym and last between 2½ – 4 hours.
Together we will learn the fundamental movements of Angampora including body conditioning (Warrior Yoga), basic footwork, strikes, locks, take-downs and ground fighting, moving on to practical applications, forms and weaponry.
Afternoons are free for practice and rest and to enjoy the many offerings provided by The Mudhouse, including hiking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, bird-watching and cooking classes. An Angam martial artist’s training is not considered complete unless, in addition to the fighting art itself, he is also skilled in the art of drumming so our evenings will be filled with the beats of “Berawadayana”.
Meals are meticulously prepared in the traditional Sri Lankan way using clay pots and firewood. And most of the food comes directly from The Mudhouse farm.
